Mitchell was 6 months old and had been in cancer treatment for 3 months for a rare leukemia. Mitchie was receiving a blood transfusion during this photo. The steroids that were part of his protocol gave him the sweetest moon face. He was the only one who did not know he was sick. I look at the young mother in this picture and I see so much fire and so much hope. When I look in the mirror today, I see a strong woman with ALOT more fire and a hope that sometimes wavers.
It’s been one hell of a journey. I’m not finished yet.
