Today is the 20th Anniversary of my move from Mississippi to Charlotte. I would not have taken the risk if Alexis Bullock had not persuaded me to move here with her. Everyone, including my family, thought I was crazy and made bets on how long it would take me to come back. ?
The past 20 years have been filled with so many joys and, at times, extreme sorrow. I have missed my home state and her people too many times to count. I’ve actively tried to move back to the Magnolia State five different times, but each time God has redirected me to wonderful things that have kept me here in Charlotte.
I told someone today that I am stronger and feel better now than I have since Mitchell died. ?
Every morning when I’m drinking my coffee, I give thanks to God for bringing me here.
I am excited to see what the next 20 years have in store for me and my precious Frank. It feels so good to know I can take care of us, that we are stable and that we have a wonderful community of people who love and support us.
